This collection was inspired by personal nostalgia I feel when recalling fond memories of gathering with friends and loved ones. Each painting in this collection has a complementary pair; together, they have a conversation about what togetherness feels and looks like. The representative piece speaks to the remnants of an evening well spent: a bottle of wine, half eaten fruit, exhausted flowers. Its abstract complement overlays these motifs, adding depth and emotion to these recollections. It’s a game of “I Spy” that allows for a deeper connection to the work and to our own memories.
